New York Times Oscars Ad

The New York Times will be running a commercial on the Academy Awards tonight.

Pretty weird.

I don't think that will provide any sort of significant boost in circulation.

What's the point?

Bash Trump and Republicans. Rally the Leftist troops.

"The truth is hard. The truth is hard to find. The truth is hard to know. The truth is more important than ever."

"The truth is more important than ever"?

Why is that?

Wasn't it important for the last eight years? Why was it OK to gloss over or reinvent or completely ignore the truth then?

This ad does nothing to restore credibility to the New York Times. Instead, it serves to reinforce the truth that it is a Leftist rag.
